Partners

In 1984 Tony left a City practice and was made a partner in Heald Nickinson 1985. He is now the senior partner. He practices in corporate law, commercial and partnership law but has particular expertise in commercial property and commercial contracts.

Tony Struve

Mary joined the firm as a partner in 2019. She is based at our Farnham office but is also able to see clients at Camberley. She has a wealth of experience in Wills, powers of attorney, the administration of estates and trust work. Educated at Kings College London and trained in law at a Grays Inn practice Sarah qualified in 1987. With a grounding in matrimonial law she then took up a career in business and commerce. Dermot joined the firm in 1998 from a City practice and was made a partner in 2002. His experience in commercial and civil litigation covers building/construction disputes, professional negligence, partnership disputes, contractual claims and co-ownership disputes. Alan was admitted in 1977 having been articled to a long established and highly respected Holborn Law Firm where he was made a full partner within 4 years. Having decided to spread his wings Alan set up his own commercial law practice in 1985 in the West End of London which he moved to Farnham in 2002. Alan’s principal area of practice these days covers the full range of commercial property including development site acquisitions and disposals and all aspects of commercial leases. Alan also has long experience of dealing with company and commercial work including commercial contracts. When the need arises he is also happy to deal with residential conveyancing.

Michael qualified as a solicitor in 1979 and practised in the West End and the City before joining the firm as a Consultant in 1990. He handles all aspects of commercial property transactions. His particular interest is the intricacy of Landlord and Tenant law. Over the years he has developed a specialism in the sale and purchase of leisure sites and hotels. Stewart joined Heald Nickinson in 2012 after a successful period as a sole practitioner running the long established local Camberley property law firm of Webb & Co. Legal Team

Amy joined Heald Nickinson as a paralegal in the residential conveyancing department in June 2014 and qualified as a solicitor in May 2017. After a year working in the family department Amy returned to conveyancing. Whilst Amy predominantly acts for clients buying new build properties, Amy is able to assist with all aspects of residential conveyancing. Amy also has significant experience in dealing with Lifetime ISAs and the Forces Help to Buy scheme.

Clare qualified as a solicitor in 1993 and joined HN in 2018 following a long career in the court service where she advised magistrates and district judges mainly in family cases, involving both public and private law proceedings and some criminal matters too. She also has extensive experience of representing individuals in cases involving complex factors such as non-accidental injuries, physical, sexual, and emotional abuse, mental health difficulties, neglect, psychological trauma and drug and alcohol addiction both in court proceedings and prior to the commencement of proceedings . Clare has a particular interest in representing people who have been diagnosed with being on the autistic spectrum . Prior to qualifying as a solicitor Clare completed a degree in psychology at the University of Reading . Deborah qualified in 1988 having completed her training at Theodore Goddard (now Addleshaw Goddard). She lived in Canada for nearly 10 years where she qualified under Canadian law and then practised with a large Toronto-based firm.Following a move back to the UK, in 1997 she set up her own firm, Barringtons Solicitors, in Farnham, and built that into a busy and successful practice. In April 2023, Barringtons merged with Heald Nickinson and she is now based at their Farnham office.Deborah is a commercial solicitor specialising in all types of commercial contracts, including in particular asset and share sales and purchases, Shareholders’ Agreements and Loan Agreements. Ian joined Heald Nickinson in their Farnham office in April 2023 following a merger with Barringtons Solicitors, where he had worked since 2016. Kathryn is a Resolution Accredited Specialist in the areas of Private Children Law and Financial remedies. She joined the Firm in July 2019, having previously worked for Firms in Kent and West Surrey. Kathryn advises married and unmarried clients on relationship breakdown, including separation, divorce and dissolution of civil partnerships. Kathryn is experienced in resolving complex financial situations involving property and pensions, including armed forces pensions. Kathryn works in a sensitive manner with parents and grandparents in children matters; such as contact with parents, which school the child will attend and relocation within the UK and abroad. Imran qualified as a solicitor in 2018 and joined Heald Nickinson in July 2024 in the Commercial Property team. Imran joins with a background in development assisting and advising a range of developers, landowners and investors across a wide spectrum of development work including acquisition and disposals, option and promotion agreements and secured lending. Imran has acted for a variety of clients including national and regional housebuilders and clients in the education and care home sectors. Imran can advise on all aspects of commercial property work including the grant and assignment of commercial leases and the acquisition and disposal of commercial and residential property. Julie is an employment law specialist with several years' experience in representing and assisting both employers and employees with work related issues. Robert Westgate-Maher is a solicitor in our Family & Children Law Team and primarily advises clients from our Camberley and Bracknell offices, as well as remotely. He advises on family law matters and his expertise lies in matters relating to children. Robert trained and worked at Heald Nickinson before spending a period of time working as a Senior Legal Adviser at a Local Authority. He returned to Heald Nickinson in 2022. Robert specialises in children matters where Children’s Services have become involved with families; he represents parents, grandparents and other family members. Robert has extensive experience dealing with complex cases involving non-accidental injuries, sexual abuse, drug and alcohol addiction and cases with parallel criminal proceedings. Robert attends the Family Court to undertake his own advocacy to ensure his clients have consistent representation throughout.

Sarbjit qualified as a Solicitor in 2014 and joined Heald Nickinson a year later, she is currently Head of Department for the Care team. Sarbjit has been a member of the Law Society’s Children Law Accreditation Scheme since 2017. She routinely deals with legal issues related to children, which include but are not limited to matters such as; adoption, child protection and private arrangements for children following family breakdowns. Sarbjit represents children and young adults directly and indirectly through their Guardian’s on a routine basis. In addition to this, she acts on behalf of parents and extended family members both prior to and during Court proceedings.
